cloud77 Posted June 7, 2013 Report Share Posted June 7, 2013 So I received my SSA ZCON 15" today from a seller on SSA forums and the packaging was horrible. He had it tripled boxed with a packing pillow on the bottom of it that must have been used 3-4 times. I could count the # of packing peanuts on the bottom of the box they were so low in numbers. When I took the gasket off the basket was chipped twice from the mounting removal. On top of this, one coil was blown reading in the neighborhood of 3.8-8.3 and still moving with no external environmental sounds. the other read 1.8 as it should. When I took it out of the box and set it in front of me I could smell the coil lingering in front of me. When I bought it we were msging via txt. I told him the woofer came messed up with the coil readings and the basket troubles and he denied any of the damages being there when he shipped it. He blamed USPS for all the damages and wants me to follow through with them. Now I'm stuck with a motor that the coil gap may be screwed because of his poor packaging, a motor that needs a new basket and recone, and this headache. Oh, and did I mention that I sold my RE XXX v3 "05 woofer with an extra recone in order to get the funds for this? OMG I was so enraged when I got this. I never drink...and I had to... Will post pics upon request... What do I do? I have a paypal claim filed..but he already denied giving me my money back. This isn't USPSs fault because when the guy put the package on the counter in front of me it made a solid donk. It was the sellers negligence in his packaging. He also told me the coils both read 2.4, and one read 1.8 as it should. He lied, and now I'm gone from bump to no bump in the matter of 3 days. Cause he said " I can't give you a refund" I talked to him on the phone and he denied everything. I got so pissed and hung up. I paid 440$ for this. For 90$ more I could have bought one brand new. Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do thatI can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream. oh lawd.
