Just talked to Murphy, he said he should be building mine sometime next week. With any luck, I'll have it by the time October rolls around.

Figured it was time to finish this box up. They are some fog lights from eBay. Aiming is generally across the motor, but should light up everything pretty well. I hope. Held the wires down with hot glue.

Box is done now, just gotta drop in the sub. Would be really cool if I didn't have to wrestle it back out to adjust the mounting hole diameter, but I'm doubtful. Murphy told me to take a video of me putting the sub in the box. I told him I didn't need that embarrassment in my life.

I found some dander and rub marks from a 'squatch. Crikey, he must be a big fella. We're on the trail.

Very clean build. Love the detail you put into it

Thanks!

Hope you don't have to adjust the hole

That would be unfortunate haha

I'm really hoping I don't have to pull it back out to adjust. This thing weighs about 110 pounds.

Lol, basically. But I'm fairly confident in this timeline now. He at least has all the parts.

cool build!

original ideas for sure.

I've been playing with a shunt too, to get some idea of the transfer of amperage from the front battery to the bank in the back.

Turns out that I see similar to you, I run a b2 m1s amp (some 7k at 14v), that it takes a while to load down the 380Ah battery bank, but as soon as it does, then the amperage goes up to maxing the alternator quickly..

I did calibrate my shunt tho, with an external clampmeter...

For random numbers from the top of my head, my all of amps combined are idling at about 13amps, which stays below 20A at volumes that makes it really hard to run a conversatoin even screaming in the car..

max number seen have been around 100A in this car...

That's cool, not sure I've seen anyone else use a shunt in a car. I have mine between my amps and rear batteries. It's pretty eye-opening, a lot of people always seem to follow the math that's perfect on paper, but don't realize what's actually going on during music.

For sure.

On the other hand, we need to be a bit relaxed towards our 'measurement gear' and the numbers produced too...

Here's a random video where you can see it in action... It is not really full tilt in the video. Sorry for sucky camera work :P

Setup is a b2 m1s powering a DC18XLm2, in a 6th order walled in station wagon.

360Ah bank, stock 120A alt (with excruciatingly low regulation by main 'computer' .)
