It wasn't a "VS" thread like the way I think it's meant in the rules, I meant it as a purely educational question, not to say one sucks or one is better than the other all the time. I was asking about the technical advantage I could get out of either one for my specific woofer build. This happened the first time I made my homemade subwoofer thread, despite it not having anything but normal questions like how things work. So I'm wondering if there is a rule I'm breaking that I'm not aware of? I also thought it might have been the wrong section, but I didn't think there was a better section than this so I just tried it here. Sorry if so. As SMD is sponsored by different companies, so dont want one to look bad when they're sponsoring us. So would think that a thread comparing 2 different voice coils of a generic sub would be fine?It's not like your comparing Skar vs DC or anything like that. TeamHT Posted June 18, 2013 Report Share Posted June 18, 2013 A versus thread also covers a what is better, what is louder, what is stronger etc. With so many installs and factors no one can say with 100% the answer for every question. Then you get pointless posts from those without the education, knowledge, or experience. There is definitely room for intellectual growth and education in the question but 90% of the time it will turn into some pissing match the mods will only have to regulate and monitor. It's really a, if it's not there they can't fight over it type deal. That being said, I could easily see someone confusing the question as a versus thread as someone could be comparing subwoofer A to subwoofer B. Which doesn't seem to be the case here at all. So maybe the question should be more posed the differences thermally between the two and the cause and affect. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
