Krakin Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 The break in is a myth for a sub's power handling. As long as you power it correctly you shouldn't have any problem on upgrading the amp. Edit: however, after use a sub will loosen up changing its parameters a bit. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.
Jbarrera93 Posted June 20, 2013 Author Report Posted June 20, 2013 okay, i was just basing it off of what AQ said. 2001 Chevy Blazer LS Kenwood KDC-HD552U 2 12" SDC 2.5 D4 Fi SP4 18" 4 Sundown SA-12's HiFonics BE 1200.1 Soundstream RUB1.2500D Looking for a 5k XS Power D3100 4 Soundqubed 6.5's (Pro Audio) 2 Soundqubed 3-Way 6.5's 2 Soundqubed Super Tweeters
Joe X Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 So here is a suggestion, dimensions need to be checked before building, the dual layer baffle is optional, read the notes below the pic: Enclosure Specifications:Fb = 35 HzVb = 2.5 ft^3External Height = 15.25 inExternal Width = 38 inExternal Depth = 14 inPort Width = 3 inCut Sheet List:* All Dimensions in Inches.* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.External Enclosure Parts:2 x Top & Bottom (3 parts) = 38 x 14Left & Right Sides =Side 1 = 12 1/2 x 13Side 2 = 13 1/4 x 13Front = 34 1/4 x 13Back = 38 x 13L Port Internal Assembly Parts:Front to Back = 9 1/2 x 13Extension = 13 1/4 x 13Assembly guide (generic dimensions): Important notes:- The 45s if you want to do them are 2 1/2" wide except the one/ones inside the port, if you want that let me know.- All boxes built outside the vehicle need to fit in their way in not just have the right dimensions.- The port needs 3" of free airspace in front of it for proper operation.- Setting your amp subsonic filter to 28Hz is suggested.
Jbarrera93 Posted June 20, 2013 Author Report Posted June 20, 2013 I really appreciate it Joe X will get back to you of I have any issues. 2001 Chevy Blazer LS Kenwood KDC-HD552U 2 12" SDC 2.5 D4 Fi SP4 18" 4 Sundown SA-12's HiFonics BE 1200.1 Soundstream RUB1.2500D Looking for a 5k XS Power D3100 4 Soundqubed 6.5's (Pro Audio) 2 Soundqubed 3-Way 6.5's 2 Soundqubed Super Tweeters
