Karkov
Ok guys, I am curious since my rear hatch has it so the glass can be opened separate than the whole hatch itself if I will have major rattle issues with this? There is clearly no way to put sound deadener on glass (I wouldn't any). I am assuming there is others on here with same issue/setup? I am having the port face back. I mean, basically whether there excessive rattle or not i am screwed but I am curious what others have done to combat it if anything (other than a wall). thanks for any insight or suggestions. 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. Rockford96
ive read you can glue the glass to the hatch with like window caulk along the seam My setup, Digital Designs M80 3 Re audio 10's ported tuned to 36 hz Kenwood x-696 SHCA 0 gauge Polk audio coax running off hu
tacomaguy1
yes it will rattle, there's not much you can do about it Maybe adjust the latch so it closes tighter. Have seen weather stripping around the edge of the glass to make it close tighter Team Flex Issues
Karkov
Thanks all for your suggestions, never thought of either of those options, yea, kind of figured I was SOL. With everything else being Dynamatted the window has no choice but to take the brunt of it. Oh well. I will try some of the above things. Karkov
Go wall. .... haha, my 2 previous setups were walls (separate vehicle) so this time around I will do simple install and stick with box behind the rear seats in cargo area, in the future the vehicle will be more dedicated to stereo though but as for now I will keep my second row of seats. thanks though. =) 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. covi1234
I have a 97 tahoe and 2 12s. I've done all I can to get rid of the rattle. I think it is what it is. If I didn't use the rear often then in would just seal it off.
gckless
Yep, same here, rattles like a bish. Not much you can do if you still want to be able to use it. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand.
