Amart88 Posted July 1, 2013 Report Posted July 1, 2013 How do you guys sand the edges of your material? For instance, before attaching the baffle. I have an orbital sander but It seems I can never get the edge to sand flat. It always ends up wanting to round the edges. Really frustrating. I have been trying different techniques with not much luck. So I figured I would ask. I hold the thing as what I thought was square to the edge and I feel it with my hand and it's all wavy. .... Any tips/techniques or advice? Thanks. My 2005 s10 blazer build. 4 zcon 18's walled.
big dee Posted July 1, 2013 Report Posted July 1, 2013 Run it thru table saw on 45 then sand the edges over. Or router them round

big dee Posted July 1, 2013 Report Posted July 1, 2013 A wall? My bad bro I miss read this I guess. I would use a long sanding block so you can keep it consistant . That might help you
Pioneerchuck Posted July 1, 2013 Report Posted July 1, 2013 You can get an electric handheld belt sander. I got mine at Home Depot about 6 months ago for like $50. Works wonders.
Amart88 Posted July 1, 2013 Author Report Posted July 1, 2013 I have a belt sander. But damn that thing will remove material. The paper is pretty worn. Maybe i'll give it a go. Then try a block. My 2005 s10 blazer build. 4 zcon 18's walled.
big dee Posted July 2, 2013 Report Posted July 2, 2013 I wouldn't do a belt sander. Not enough control on a small foot print. Meaning the corner. I would use a like 2 foot long skinny block like an auto body shop uses . Go rough grit to move material fast then fine grit to Finnish it off. It will take time but I feel it will work good
