Brandonbkd Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 So I know that running the RCAs and power cable next to each other will cause static but exactly how close will they have to be to each other to actually cause it. I'm running a soundqubed q1-2200d with one run of 1/0 on the stock alt to a BL18. I'm moving my amp and may need to cross the power/RCAs only at a single spot to have it where I want it. blkgp_03 Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 Ive heard so many yes and no's about this. Personally I run them on the side of each other. I know people who had had to run them next to each other. However they have not had a issue. Some people I know "claim" they have. Clip city bitch, clip clip city bitch. 10's, 12's, 15's, goin up in flames bitch. soundstream15 Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 It's another car audio myth from what I hear and read
Carbon Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 Pure myth man. Steve even mentioned something about this a while back
hdorre Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 I remember a while ago reading an explanation on how engine noise can be caused.. And it made sense to me. Then again, I was younger and not as well educated in the car audio field. Me personally, I run them on opposite sides.. Omega5002 Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 Yeah, the myth is that you get noise from putting them together, but if you're getting noise, it's usually poor grounding. 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)

AMI CUSTOMS Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 In a truck like mine with 8 power and 8 ground runs all coming thru the firewall. 4 power 4 ground on passenger and on driver side, I run RCA down at least one side that has several power cables, my truck is noise free. Pure myth. clickclickw00t Posted July 9, 2013 Report Posted July 9, 2013 If you have good quality wire and twisted pair RCAs you should be perfectly fine.
