AI James Posted February 22, 2008 Report Share Posted February 22, 2008 I own a T4000.1 its a great amp, but used for different things then a 3000d imo, as i wouldnt mind running a Sundown off 18v and quarter ohm . I havent ever tryed my RF in a high voltage setup but if i recall thier engineered for that 12v that they put out all the wattage at. I dont have a problem with RF or Stetsom even for that matter, i just dont understand downtalking an amp that you basically have no personal experience with. If you have experience cool, then i take that back, but it seems you are going off other peoples testing and not your own. I as a sundown rep dont agree with some of the test ive seen on them. but they do what they are rated at least so i dont see whats not good about it. Derrick824 Posted February 22, 2008 Report Share Posted February 22, 2008 The Sundown 3000d doesn't have a built-in fuse but its rated for an external 300a. The testing I've seen done by Sundown showed that it maintained 3200watts @ 1ohm even with voltage drop down to 11volts. I need to do some testing of my own with one of these. Saltine Posted February 22, 2008 Report Share Posted February 22, 2008 the 1500's do 1510 at 1 ohm..i run 2 of these and love them...beat the hell out of the BL's for the price and power i couldnt go wrong as for power testing jacob done lots of test with them and even video taped them for ppl saying his results were incorrect. I believe thats the amp that caused serious controversy in NSPL because it had such a low fuse rating yet guys were using straight pieces of wire in place of the fuse and getting a ridiculous amount of power out of them. If it is the same amp then that 180amp rating is a serious under-rating just to make that amplifier available to guys in lower amperage classes. NSPL uses manufacturer's amplifier fuse ratings for their power classes yet don't actually require the guys to use those fuses. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
