this is just one of the places i know that sell the parts to do it. its spectra parts mostly but they hold up. could use any filter you want on it. as long as the tubing doesnt melt and is of the same shape/design as other name brand companies you will see similar results as the higher end companies.

and a link to parts.

If you have a MPG gauge, keep an eye on it as you drive, learn to slowly accelerate.

Let off the throttle twice as far from red lights and stop signs as you normally would. You're gonna stop anyway, why waste fuel getting there?

If you have tiptronic/shifttronic or a manual, shift earlier.

Find the route to work that has the flattest terrain with the fewest stops. Even if it's 20% farther you could save fuel.

the tornado is bullshit.

Get LT or even passenger car tires for your truck if you can find them. Off-road tires are meant for off road and aren't very efficient on the highway.

Get rid of dead weight. get a emergency inflator kit and skip the spare. Get rid of the carpet in your trunk. Build sub enclosures out of Birch instead of MDF.

bad wheels bearings can be an issue to.

could look at doing light weight pulleys instead of an electric fan. still reduces rotating mass.

im thinking if i do a cai ill try the dryer vent? but all talk for now. just got new cooper at3 lt tires and front bearings and an alignment. box i plan on redoing this sping to be smaller and ill go birch. i have 2 routes i take to and from school. on interstate going in. one downhill and flat going home.i tried driving more passively and it really didnt seem to make a difference always between 200-220 in spring-fall depending on idles and traffic. towing up to 4000# i havent noticed a difference either. spare is out unless i go a longer trip i have an emergency kit in toolbox. very shitty auto trans. need to go get it checked. shifts like shit

The transmission might be the issue then.

Its been rebuilt once and im thinking it might have to be again. First slips and it can never find OD and it just kinda clunks into gears

Oh yeah, losing gas for sure there. Od is the gas saver and slipping is a loss of gas. Every time it slips it's just burning up gas with out moving the truck anywhere.

I had a 99 dodge diesel with an auto. The trans are fine but the torque converters suck. I did a stock rebuild kit, aftermarket valve body and a billet converter. Ran perfect and handled a lot of torque. I did the work myself do it was around 1800 but if I would of had a shop do it I was looking at 3000.

the trans rebuild was like 700 but that was also 10 years ago... hopefully i can get it in and have the bands tightened. whatever that means. a few of the teachers at my school in the auto shop were telling me about it. i just want better response and gears to shift nicely and not clunk and try to find the right one. im not into the more advanced engine and trans work so ill let a shop do that crap
