not sure if it's different from DC to AQ, but IMO my clip light is dead on accurate, when the light is flickering i'm assuming it's a soft clip, when it's stays on solid red it's hard clip, atleast i've noticed that when it's solid red is when I start to smell something funky, and that is if I let it play like that for more than 30sec which I rarely do.

On my dc amp the clipping indicator would light up before the dd-1

Don't remember if it was 4-5 click I would lower it so the light would go away

nothing against the DD-1, but when my system was tuned with the DD-1 everything was much quieter, didn't notice an increase in SQ or anything for that matter, turned my gains up to where I originally tuned them by ear and have yet to have an issue with any of my speakers to this day. It serves it's purpose in some applications, but it did not in mine, or I was not happy with the results if it did.

you arent going to notice a difference in sound level by clipping your subs dude. clipping just makes the sub pause at the top and bottom of every stroke. power is still sent to the sub while it isnt moving. it helps a tiny bit with SPL competitions, it wont help you sound louder on music. set it up right. if you want it to be louder, buy more power. shortcuts dont work.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

Get a DD1 like I told you in my first series of replys to your questions. Get or find one...

Even if you gotta drive 3 hours to use it. Find a dd1 or an oscope

But which track did you use?

when the clip light start to come on i can still turn the gain up more and it still gets louder all around

Mother of god the gain is not a volume knob, if you want the sub to have more output get a bigger amp. Those subs love big boxes and a shit ton of power, put those together and you'll have the results you want done right WITHOUT motherfucking clipping.

if it smells, turn it down.

clip light on the remote is useless anyway. used my oscope to tune the gains with the knob attached. at like 1/2 turn on the remote knob, the clip light would start flickering, but the wave is fine on the scope. i could turn it to like 3/4 or something and have the clip light solid on and THEN the amp would start to clip.

just my experience with it. if you do what i did though, dont blame me if by some chance your coils let go.

Hes right the clip light are kinda useless but they always clip before your actually clipping. So to newbies as long as you follow the light you cant be clipping:)

His problem is not the dd1 its either improper use of it via the wrong track or the fact he needs more power
