SnowDrifter Posted July 25, 2013 Report Posted July 25, 2013 use brass bolts or run speaker wires out of box for least amount of resistance.. Actually no. If you want the lease amount of resistance Copper, followed by Aluminum. Brass ranks pretty far down the list. It's fairly easy to get aluminum and copper bolts though. Silver? Might have some trouble. Actually you know what? If you want the least amount of resistance run the wire right through the box. No terminal. every connection is a source of resistance. ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

SnowDrifter Posted July 25, 2013 Report Posted July 25, 2013 Copper bolts are hard to find, and expensive Can't be that hard to find Did a search for copper bolts on ebay. This came up http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-4-20-COPPER-HEX-BOLTS-LOT-OF-6-SEE-PICS-/181175594959?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a2ee82fcf $2/bolt. Not really that much when you consider say... a $200 subwoofer, $80 box, $80 in wiring, $200 amp, etc ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
Chris Hammer Posted July 25, 2013 Report Posted July 25, 2013 I would do aluminum honestly it would be the easiest one to find. And if anyone talks shit on them as to see their solid copper battery terminals, amp terminals, or buss bars, and what do they think their fuse holders are made out of..... I want to see soemone show an audible gainf from switching stainless bolts to copper ones on their box. How about the push terminals on your sub, what are those made out of...? People stress over little shit too much and get finicky over the wrong shit, get some zinc/or aluminm bolts that are easily ofund at home depot and call it good. Airborne Posted July 25, 2013 Report Posted July 25, 2013 I am using stripped 1/0 (no pics right now, will have a build log up when it's done) strands, bolts and nuts. Trust me, it is removable (unlike trying to undo the cable from the amp) because I need space every once and a while, has plenty of current and looks Mad Maxish (cause it is a bling free system)...
tacomaguy1 Posted July 25, 2013 Report Posted July 25, 2013 cheapest bolts I could find at the hardware store....worked good for 11k Team Flex Issues
