Also it will more then likly be computer controlled, so youll want to externally regulate it, whicj will give you a battery light or engine light. 1998 gmc extd cab 12 crossfire C710s 4 SAZ-4500s 3 Singer 400A altsbuncha mids/highs Team Asshole
BboyTaktix Posted August 16, 2013 Report Posted August 16, 2013 With the power your running (1000-1200 watts) and a 220 amp alternator(stock alt), a upgraded under hood battery and maybe another in the back you should be fine without a aftermarket h/o alt. Edit: this is for BboyTaktix thanks for the info and don't mean to threadjack. I discussed this in my build thread as well. I'll be adding a kinetik KHC1400 and big 3 upgrade, a few others have said I should be fine as well. My alt is only something like 90A though on my STI, 220A stock would be great...I WISH! AASMDBASS Posted August 17, 2013 Author Report Posted August 17, 2013 I have not tried stinger alts...this will really hinder me putting my system in the new durango if I can't find an alt...mechman told me they can get me an alt but I would need a custom bracket...problem with THAT, is I don't know who to trust with a reliable bracket Pioneer DEH 80PRS HU Ascendant Audio SMD 18" Audioque 3500.1D XS Power D3100 Rockford T1 components Rockford P400X4
CJ18 Posted August 17, 2013 Report Posted August 17, 2013 If you are only running 1200w, just upgrade your wiring and add a second battery.
Miguels Posted August 17, 2013 Report Posted August 17, 2013 the one running the 1200rms is another guy not the OP.. rigtec Posted August 17, 2013 Report Posted August 17, 2013 I will be purchasing a 2013 Dodge Durando 3.6L V6 within the next 4 months, it comes with a 220A alt but that will not be enough Current set up is 18"AA SMD XS Power D3100 (secondary batt) ... Stock primary batt. AQ3500.1D Can ANYONE help me in the direction of finding an H/O alt...looking for at least 300A...I do not know how to go through mechman, I've contacted DC Power and they don't have any, nor did they sound like they would anytime soon...Thanks in advance Hi AASMDBASS, I found these two "Auto electrical system specialists" about 2 months ago, just before I upgraded my suv's sub-woofer system. Here are a couple links, hope these help: http://alternatorparts.com/Extreme%20Duty%20Dual%20Rectifier%20CS-144%20type.htm or: Nations Starter & Alternator- Best Quality Starter & Alternator Supply! rigtec, cheers
TeamHT Posted August 17, 2013 Report Posted August 17, 2013 heh...? you have some input you would like to share? because he (and I) were both looking for options so input as opposed to 'heh' would help.Looked into DC alts, they look great but start at $449 for my vehicle and really, I don't need to spend $500+ (with shipping etc) when I only plan on running 1000-1200RMS MAX. Maybe OP is willing though, not sure how much power he plans on running and the budget he has available. This shit annoys me. Don't pass it off as if his response is stopping you from bushing DC. You just stated you couldn't afford it. And as if this wasn't funny enough, OP already states he's using an AQ 3500.1 which is 4,200 watts rms at 1 ohm. So...take a step back and chill out. You state you're only running 1200 watts max, so obviously you wouldn't even need to upgrade your alt. Heh. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
