g2shuck
Like the title says I built my first enclosure today. It is 2 cubes after sub and L port displacement. I did not do the greates on the carpet but I feel good about it for being my first enclosure. Here are some pics let me know what you think. 2000 Toyota Camry With Sealed Off Trunk Sky High OFC Wiring DC Power 270 XP Alt AQ 2200 Sub Amp Two DC Level 4 m2 12s 80 Mil Murdetmat Gathering Parts For Wall Build. Pioneerchuck
Not bad for your first build. You'll get better the more you do it just like anything else.
g2shuck
Here is what the port looked like. I assembled the box with 3/4 MDF, wood glued it all, held it together with 3 inch wood screws while wood glue dried, and sealed it with liquid nails. 2000 Toyota Camry With Sealed Off Trunk Sky High OFC Wiring DC Power 270 XP Alt AQ 2200 Sub Amp Two DC Level 4 m2 12s 80 Mil Murdetmat Gathering Parts For Wall Build. Tribe Called Bass
Looks nice! I see the cracks in between the wood = smaller screws. I did the exact same shit, but mine was cracked all over. If you pre-drill the holes(I forget the real word used for this) it helps the screw go directly straight in, instead of veering off when it hits a denser particle. g2shuck
I did pre drill thw ood but as you said the screws were to big. I only cracked it in like 3 spots though. I filled in the cracks with wood glue to keep it from splitting more. 2000 Toyota Camry With Sealed Off Trunk Sky High OFC Wiring DC Power 270 XP Alt AQ 2200 Sub Amp Two DC Level 4 m2 12s 80 Mil Murdetmat Gathering Parts For Wall Build. MrShiffles
Good job on your first build...carpet is a pain to get a professional appearance to it...I know a heat gun could help around the edges of your port to get those fibers tucked in a little better....give yourself a pat on the back! How does it sound?
g2shuck
Do not know how it sounds. New sub will not be here till Tuesday. Will set amp up with multimeter tomorrow so when sub come in I can intall it in the box with tee nuts and see how it sounds. 2000 Toyota Camry With Sealed Off Trunk Sky High OFC Wiring DC Power 270 XP Alt AQ 2200 Sub Amp Two DC Level 4 m2 12s 80 Mil Murdetmat Gathering Parts For Wall Build. Krakin
one thing i learned is if you keep the nails/screws at least 2-3 inches from the corners joints you will not crack i, and its called pilot holes and good job Ghost for the rescue! But yeah keep the screws a little father away from the edge and it will help out. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.
