Pauly1987
Hello people So I'm building a 10cube box for two fi bl 15 I already ordered my 6inch port and it comes in tomorrow and before I chop it up I wana make sure this measurement is correct! The website says 3.3inches from flare to flare should give me 33hrz tunning! This sound correct seems very short too me??? But then again I've never worked with aero ports
Krakin
It seems wrong because you didn't get the right amount of port area for your subs. You get 28 in2 from a single 6" port. You need 124 in2 for those subs at 33hz. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. Slobalt7
Way too small. You might as well just run sealed. Not trying to knock you but damn. First box? My first box was .8 cubes with 24" of port. lol Yeah, it's slower than your bowel movements.
321slapinbass
yeah that single 6" port will give you 2.8 sq-in of port per cube. you want to be around 9 - 12 sq-in per cube with aero ports. so use 3 or 4 (4 would be better) of those 6" port's for the proper port area with that box. 2000 Dodge Durango Subs - (2) SKAR VVX 15 D2's Box - 7.2 ft^3 @ 33hz, 120 in of port Sub amp - Digital Designs M2 @ .5 ohm Mids + Highs - PRV Audio Mids + Highs amp - Hifonics 2000.4 Headunit - Alpine CDE-100 Equalizer - Clarion EQS746 Batteries - Mopar group 27 + (2) C&D 52ah Wiring - 1/0 BIG 3, (2) runs 1/0 Alternator - Singer 250A 147.79 dB @ 35hz - burp - sealed on dash 147.47 dB @ 35hz - music - sealed on dash YOUTUBE: http://www.youtube.com/user/321slapinBass/videos

Omega5002
I wouldn't use a single 6' aero for that box, you'd be better off using like a 12' sonotube if you wanna go with a round port. 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)

OrionStang
OP, you aren't following. One of those ports is not enough port area. You need 3 or 4 of them before you even begin thinking bout the length to cut them. Stop posting and start researching around this forum. So much free information, don't blow it off.
