Jessica
Well whatever is going on its a clusterfuck. One amp has power going to ground. How do you explain that? bdog
you need 0 gauge from front to back and to the fuse block. 4 gauge just isnt going to cut it for 2x 1200w amps REP
whatusay45
This is where my 4 gauge OFC wire starts.. and runs to the back of the car, It has a 250AMP ANL fuse.. which i just noticed today.. also melted... fuckkkkk Runs to the back under my carpet to the Second battery.. The battery is grounded to a factory ground behind the seats which i sanded down.. then goes to the distro block which spits off into two more runs of CCA 4 gauge... the ground doesnt go to the distro. it comes from the battery to the First amplifier.. as seen here.. yes i know Shitty connection job.. but i just ordered Stinger 4 guage to 8 gauge reducers so i would clean up nice. Now the ground for the second amp is right next to the taillights in the trunk.. i ran out of black 4 Gauge so i just used Blue and labeled them appropriately so i wouldn't get confused.. And that's basically how my Set up is wired up.. I know i Dont have the big three or anything like that but i working on it money is tight so the progress comes in slowly.. KMS
Is it possible for you to ground to the seatbelt bolt? I found that to be good. Also, is your ground sanded and free of paint for better contact? Alpine PDX-V9 Morel Tempo 6 Alpine SBR-S8-4 Alpine CDE 149BT

Guest
No i would have to remove the entire back seat for that... what car do you have? in my corolla i could literally have the back seat out in under 5 minutes. that ground you have is terrible. try to avoid having 1000 frayed strands of wire on anything (like on your amp). that shit is fucking dangerous beyond belief. you NEED 0 gauge from front battery to rear battery. 4 gauge can only handle like 150 amps, and you're putting almost 250 amps worth of strain through that wire. absolutely useless to put a 250 amp fuse on 4 gauge when the wire is going to melt before the fuse does. edit: wait...why are you buying 4 to 8 gauge downsizer connectors for your RF amp that needs 4 gauge? poorfish88
Agree, that ground sucks and almost all of your connections are way too long. I mean way too much copper showing danger danger your begging for arc. Plus way too many kinds of wires and sizes. Not trying to be a dick, but your install is a mess. I'd take everything out and start over. And take your time.
