whatusay45
4 gauge feeds the distro block. But that wire doesn't get anywhere close to warm
CleanSierra
So you have 2 amps that realistically can draw 120A per amp. You've likely got at least a 200W(if running at 4 ohms) 4 channel amp also, so there is at least another 20A, possibly more like 40-50 amps at full tilt. So to wrap up, you've got probably 240-260A of current demand. 4 gauge isn't gonna cut it dude, you're into 1/0 OFC range, not 4 gauge CCA. It doesn't matter what feels warm or if the other amp is working or not. You need a run of good 1/0 gauge and then split to 4 gauge at your distribution block. To be absolutely clear, the wire that is melted is the B+ right? Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

SnowDrifter
I noticed connections are always comming lose I'll bet that's what it is. Poor connection causing heat. Get a distribution block with some hex-key set screws. Confirming... Is the entire wire HOT or just the portion near the fuse/distribution block? And I'd upgrade the wire going in to 0ga or add another 4ga in IMO ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
Jessica
I'm confused by your pictures. In this picture there is no ground going to the nearest amp. And a random ground and power not hooked up going somewhere towards the front of the car and it looks like you have the power wire going to ground on one amp and power on the other. It also looks like you have no charge wire going to your battery at all. In this picture your distro block clearly has two inputs and two outputs and you have plenty of wire to run two runs off that battery yet you only ran one to it. What is going on in your trunk man? edit:spelling Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. My super random youtube channel and terrible camera work.
