g2shuck Posted October 13, 2013 Report Posted October 13, 2013 I have a guy that I am doing a small build for in is 94 chevy regular cab. I removed the bench yesterday and installed two bucket seats so I can do a center console box. He has two version 1 skar ivx 12s he wants installed in the center console box. Luckily they only require 1 -1.5 cubes each since they are the small 2 inch voice coil subs. Here is the box design I have came up with let me know what you guys think. The subs will be inverted and the port will be firing to the rear. 2000 Toyota Camry With Sealed Off Trunk Sky High OFC Wiring DC Power 270 XP Alt AQ 2200 Sub Amp Two DC Level 4 m2 12s 80 Mil Murdetmat Gathering Parts For Wall Build. justin0943 Posted October 13, 2013 Report Posted October 13, 2013 you might want to tell your buddy to go with shallow like sundown sd-2 10 or 12's which does not need air space so you can have the ass end on the wall, or the skar audio vd-10 or 12.the sd-2 10 are 4.75 depth the sd-2 12 are 5.25 depth.the vd-10 are 4.41 depth and the vd-12 are 4.92 depth. all these needs about half the space those skar ivx so you can probably but them behind the seat.all these subs can handle 700rms each with no problem. I run 2 sd-2 10's in a reg dodge dakota with 2 sealed boxes about .7 each and they slam and hit the lows nice. 02 dodge ram 1500 reg cab 3rd gen 2 sundown sd-2 d4 soundstream rub1.2500 amp all sky high car audio-fuse,fuse holder, wire, ring lugs and rca flex tech box design by Joe X supension-mcgaughys 2in drop spindal ,western chassis 6in flip kit, buddy custom c-notch 04 5.7l hemi motor swap and made it an slt eletric everthing youtube channel-http://www.youtube.c...43?feature=mhee http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/190882-02-dodge-ram-1500-3rd-gen/

CleanSierra Posted October 13, 2013 Report Posted October 13, 2013 What about shallow mount subs behind the seat. I had plenty of boxes in my '90 regular cab. There is room back there. I'd port with round ports to the B-pillar. When we speak off unloading issues, that box design is NO DOUBT, troubled. One sub has much more depth for the rear wave to travel, it won't match up with the rear wave on the other sub, since that sub has a much more shallow space. You should have the depth on that box be a constant if you're going to attempt a center console box. Me personally, I dont like console boxes. They look like crap and I don't care for the way they sound either Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
CleanSierra Posted October 13, 2013 Report Posted October 13, 2013 Use aero ports as well, they don't eat into your useable volume as much as a slot port Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
