SnowDrifter
Is with with or without a load? With a load it's normal. But without one, it's not ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
LoudBimmer
it should be charging at 14.1 everywhere.
JesseyMclame
Sorry I'm on mobile but N8, it's a 2000 s-10 with a 4.3. And snow, that's just with no load really, just my stereo, my 4 chan and EQ on. Current setup in my 96 Hoe Hu - Pioneer DEH-80prs. ChevyBoy95
it should be charging at 14.1 everywhere. no, there is ALWAYS voltage drop across cables. with no load, charging 14.1 up front, 13.9 and up is ok. Anything lower and you might have some dirty grounds, or something of the sort causing voltage loss. Could be long cables as well. SnowDrifter
.6v front to back drop with no load is NOT normal. You shouldn't even have .1v drop in this scenario to be honest Op, do you have a multi meter? How are you measuring your voltages? ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
JesseyMclame
Yeah, I'm measuring voltage with dmm. SnowDrifter
Start working your way down the wire. Pre fuse, post fuse, midpoint of the wire - you can poke the probes through the insulation. Measure at your rear batts, but instead of putting the negative probe to the negative post on the batteries, put it to the chassis or some other ground ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
