afrakes Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 I have used damp pro, but am on a budget now. I saw 40 sq for $100. Is it any good? Does it need to be double layered to be useful? Just trying to see if it's worth the cost. Thanks in advance! Vehicle: 2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD WT Head Unit: Pioneer DEH- Mids/Highs: Focal Integration ISC 165’s (front) Subs/Amps: TBD
kl0wn Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 I got 2 sheets from a friend for free, put 1 layer on my hatch and could tell a difference 06 Mini Cooper S Sundown, SoundQubed Cadence, XS Power 151s Sealed 155s Outlaw Windshield @ 37hz

Soccerballzs Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 There is only so much science in sound deadening material. They all are over priced for what's in them. The cheaper don't have the adhesive abilities as some of the others. I don't care for the petroleum based ones because of the fumes they put off. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/garage/vehicle/2438-jeep-commander/I Pioneer P99RSAmpere 38002-Ampere 125/44-6.5 inch Hertz HSK XL Mids4-8 inch JL Audio ZR Midwoofer 2-5.25 Satori Mids2-Morel Tweeters, 2 Hertz Milles 3 inch on A pillars2-Hertz Silk tweeters DC Audio Level 5/12 Skyhigh Wire Mechman 320 XS Power D3100MO Funniest Thread of the Year 2013: http://www.stevemead...dy-being-a-pos/

Skullz Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 Really good stuff. I got some of the bad batch of peanut butter colored stuff, but it has done exactly what it was designed to do and still sticking quite well after a few years on the car. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2

TaylorFade Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 I wonder how many championship vehicles were using AT deadener. Hint: a lot. IMO, there is a point of diminishing returns when it comes to price to performance. And AT is at the good side of that point. It's not the best on the market, but it's real CLD and it's priced well. You can pay $5+/ft for SDS or DampPro or whatever, but the performance increase doesn't justify the price increase. If you're going to double layer, you might as well get Peel n' Seal or some other BS. Double layering does nothing but mass load. And you can mass load with any damn thing.
