gattiboy13
How important is the Gauge size in determine output on an amp? I seen an amp that I was interested in and is 150x4 and is CEA compliant but uses a max of 8 gauge...does that seem right or?

ToNasty
I wouldn't use anything under 4 gauge for any amp. ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers

ROLEXrifleman
from an electrical standpoint 8 gauge can carry roughly 50 amps of current over 15-19 feet. that's the average length of a run in a car. 50 amps of current at 14.4 volts is roughly 720 watts. divided by 4 is 180 watts per channel. So yes Virginia there is a Santa Clause and 8 gauge in can do 150 x 4 Rolex you sicken me. Just let me finish my pie ~ Juice
ROLEXrifleman
Just to add to this, Rated at 110 x 4 there should be no question this amps does 150 x 4 @ 4 ohms and guess what we have hard wired directly to it from Zed...... 8 gauge So is it possible, yes! will you get it, depends on the build quality of the amp / Thread Rolex you sicken me.
