2014 Ford Taurus SHO SQ stealth build

Soon all car will come with setup like this, the aftermarket head unit will finally die off. all the aftermarket companies are already making oem units anyways. what sucks about oem systems is the amps and speakers sound processors if they have them. most of my installs I do for customers are keep the nav head unit, add DSP, amps and speakers. no point of messing up a nice dash with an out of place aftermarket unit. processor going to be better then an aftermarket head unit anyways to get great sound. so instead of spending $1k on a aftermarket nav unit, spend $700 for a DSP and keep all the factory options and be able to tune the system to your liking for great sound. still going to spend the money, just in a different way but with better sound quality.

Hows it sound covered up? Id be worried about sub exsursion hitting the cover pannel. I know in my car i have a pannel that hides my sub and if i bump with it on it hits it even at low volumes

It sounds the same. i use metal grill to protect the sub and amp. its breathable trunk liner. The excursion is not even a 1/2" there is 2 " of space between the surround and the grill mesh. Thats why i recess all enclosure to account the the xmax.

@Mtnbikecrazy55: The Taurus SHO with the performance package (which this car has) comes with a flat fix kit, mostly to reduce weight on the car.

That is indeed very stealth. The SHO is a pretty cool car, I hear that they don't have the balls that they used to though.
