Cardboardcat15 Posted December 13, 2013 Report Posted December 13, 2013 So I've had my AQ3500 hooked up for a while now, and multiple times I've tested my voltage to find out that I don't drop all that much. My question is, does this voltage seem normal? I feel like I should be dropping waaay more than I actually am, and I don't know if it could be box rise killing me or what, but here are the numbers. Amp @ 1ohm Warm Charging voltage - 14.0 Lowest Voltage @ Full tilt - 13.4 Electrical: All wire is Knu Kandy CCA Big 3 2 runs of + and - to the back batt D1200 under the hood XP3000 in the back Stock 110 Amp Alt All Connections done with Hydraulic crimper This is all at idle with the truck in park. What do you guys think? Maybe I'm over thinking it, I mean I'm glad I don't see mad drop on stock electrical but it kind of makes me wonder if somethings not exactly right. My Channel on YouTube. Cardboardcat15 Posted December 14, 2013 Author Report Posted December 14, 2013 I'll have to get a DD-1 on it sometime soon, I've kept the same headunit through all of my installs and for safety reasons I've kept the gain on the AQ3500 at the same level as all my other amps since I knew they weren't distorting. Probably not the best way to ensure clean signal, but it's all I have for now. Thanks for the input guys, I;d like to think I might have some more room to turn it up, I totally forgot abuot the gain lol. My Channel on YouTube. Guest Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 is it the first gen 3500? or second? jw
Cardboardcat15 Posted December 14, 2013 Author Report Posted December 14, 2013 I'm not sure tbh. It's AQ, not the newer SQ logo. That's all I know. My first impression was that the amps just efficient as shit, but I'm a bit skeptical. My Channel on YouTube. SnowDrifter Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 That's a V2. Play a test tone around 40hz, note how loud it sounds, then take a DMM and measure the output voltage on your amp (AC) ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
