AQ1200d Ground Issue.

I have finally finished connecting my subs and they are reading 1 ohm on my multimeter. (2 12" SDC 2.5s) I have them running to a AQ1200D amp. Although my amp is on and everything is wired correctly I am getting no sound from subs. The only other thing I could think of was rca or ground wire. I removed the ground and didnt get a spark then realized my car was off and got a spark. I then proceeded to check my rcas with my multimeter. I took music from my laptop and plugged in a good set of RCAs and stuck the other end to my multimeter. I got a bunch of random numbers so I figured It was doin something LOL. I did the same for the ones on my system in the car and it did the same thing only threw a few negative numbers in there. So I guess my question is.... How do I check to see if im getting the best ground that I need? Also How can I test my RCA Cables without pulling em out my car? Thanks guys I really dont want to pay anyone else to fix my system its my first build. THANKS!!!

Depending on the head unit. It could have an on/off for the sub outs.

You might want to re-title this to "no output from amp" or something similar.

How is the eq set on your headunit? How is the gain and bass boost set on your amp? Did you clean the ground? Did you try swapping rcs'd? Did you check your settings on your headunit for a sub on/off mode?

if the amp is on even with a bad ground you should get at least some noise. My guess is that either your head unit's output is turned off, or the settings on the amp itself are not right. Also did you set your gain and if so how. if the gain is all the way down you may not get any sound.

Sorry forgot to tell u guys I fixed it... I am very well pleased with my subs. I think my ground sucked.... N E Who I have been working on my project since last june 2013 buying and building. I am a college student so I do it only when I have time. I finally finished yesterday and all I have to do is set my gains using a multimeter. Heres some pics and thanks guys... I will have more later. How do you set sub sonic and low pass filters? I know not to use bass boost and its all the way down. Also if I turn my key to acc (I guess thats whats its called key is turned back so audio comes on) My subs come on.... Will that run down my battery??? Thanks Guys more pics to come.

Only way to set filters accurately is with a CC-1 from my experience ( which isn't much). Everything else is just a guess.
