My objective when i bought this speaker was to put about close to 900watts into it,i was never intersted in putting 1500 into it..

500watts just seems so entry level for a 15"..guess i'll have to find another 4ohm'er.

Can someone tell me how to upload pics from my hardrive onto this forum/NOT

a URL thing

that amp will probably do 1500 at 2 ohms...so you know. RF likes to underrate their shit.

edit: cant you just return the woofer and get a dual 4 ohm or dual 1 ohm woofer instead?

if the Ω load is that big of a deal just get a second one than call it a day.

if nothing changes, nothing changes

You don't know what you don't know, till you don't know

I bought it at a pawn shop with the reciept affixed to it from the previous seller & could'nt pass it up for $140(now i think this is why he sold/this very thread),

when i was quickly looking it over all my stupid mind saw was "2ohms",for Some reason i missed that other sneaky

" +2ohm "...finding any speakers over 15" around here is definatly a game of patience!

(The power1000bd put out just over 1300watts on it's birthsheet @2ohms Kranny)

Why would you buy a sub to overpower it? Buy a sub that handles the power you are looking to push makes more sense. The type r 12 would've been a better bet. The type -s is as entry level as you can get so 500 watts is perfect.

500watts to 800 watts off power a single woofer you will notice no different .put it in a box play it.it my surprise you

That's comforting to know!!

Any opinions on this 15" type-S sub..most seemed overly impressed with it..

that's cuz most here xplods!

it really depends on the box. in a nice big custom box that sub would shine. it's not a bad sub but not great either. if i were you I'd try to find a matching one build a nice box, then that would really surprise you

. Type r would of been a better choice now those i know for sure they can take more power than rated. But I have heard an type s and it sounds nothing close to what the type r and x sound like. For entry level I guess it beats having some boss subs other than that I wouldn't buy them
