crazyman03
Long time gawker. At the moment I'm working with what I have and see where that takes me. Eventually when I get some money I plan on a real project. The Ride: 2001 Chevy S10 2.2, 130k, Automatic - Bought it for nothing and is my Daily Driver. When I bought it the Deck had been kicked in, the dash speakers were falling apart as well as their grill's. The door's had some (halfway decent sounding) Polk 90w speakers. The dash had the same but since they were falling apart they werent really worth using, though, i took the tweeters out of them. I went to the wreck yard and spotted this JVC touchscreen deck that had its leads cut pretty close to the deck (retards). I ended up buying it for 25$ took it home and went to town with a soldering iron and got it working again. only downside is they also cut the RCA pigtails that ran the Line-in and the Sub-out. The internal amp only has one channel that works so installing the amp was the first thing to do, and it sounds alright. Buddy of mine gave me a few yards of 1/0 wire as well as 8ga and 6ga. I ran the 6 and got to it. Anyway, enough with the blabering, her's a few pictures. I'm not trying to win any awards or SOTM or anything but though I'd share. I'm trying to get a few ideas on how other people work their single-cab trucks. Amp: California 3300 - 3x300wDoors: 90w max Polk Audio, Dash - Polk Tweets Sub: 10" JL Audio 400w max running about 200rms - ish.. -Justin

crazyman03
The truck isnt anything special, just a stock S10. Later this month i'm getting a new exhaust on it (swaping out for a 2.5" cat back flowmaster). My plan for it is to run a standalone amp for a set of components in the doors and dash tweets and a set of 2 10's. At some point I'd either like to fix the sub-out line or replace the deck so that i can directly tune the sub freq. My budget is very limited and I try and barter most of what I can. Though, at the moment I only really have the power wire to work with. (unless someone nearby wants some used 1/0 ga wire to trade for amps, subs etc ;-)) The topper is going away at some point real soon. I hate it but I need something to secure the parts and tools I have in the back for work. -Justin

crazyman03
I'm planning on pulling the deck out here pretty soon to try and hook up sub-out leads (maybe even a line-in) I'll post 'em up then. Thanks! -Justin
