Ofcorse i said ok, he was looking at the DD redline searies since they are a bit cheaper then other dd products but still dd so it should be good. Well i looked them up and i sall something very familer about there 700 line...They look exactly the same as the soundqubed hds300 line subs but still cost 2 times the amount. The cone, the basket, everything about these subs are identical. Only differsnce is that one says DD and thr other says soundqubed(and is half the price). So needless to say he is going with sq but i was wondering if any one alse has sall this. Could be why I was able to put a dd95 recone into my XFL. Swordlordboy1234 Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 Don't get it twisted.. It's not the same exact equipment with a different name. Costs are cut relevant to the prices offered by each company. Doesn't mean those companies suck, they are just trying to appeal to the majority of the market. Take a dd3500 / 9500 for example. Why are hdc3's and 9500's so similar? Why are XFL's and 3500's so similar? After closely comparing all 3 companies to see if my recones would work, I found that DD basically has better cooling and better coils/soft parts then those companies and all 3 companies use very very very similar measurements and the same exact baskets. Edit: on the last page of my build log in my signature, you can more clearly see the cost cuts between motors that will take the same exact soft parts. One used more and better materials, one didn't. Neither company is bad or any of that, it's just appealing to different customers wants.
