fuck the plating. look at what the main metal used is. you could buy unicorn blood plated terminals but if its just covering up dog shit, whats the point

I'll admit, half way through sanding that fiberglass in the rain and cold while I was all itchy I was definitely starting to question why i was doing this haha

what will this be used for

properly "clamp" testing amps. I should get results comparable to the AD-1 in certified mode

of course I will be using more equipment in conjunction with this

I'm watching this one. Wii be a good price comparison between the coast to clamp correctly and the amm1 and how much more work and time it will take to do it.

A few notes on comparing this with/to any of the D'Amore Engineering tools:

The resistor bank is not a stand alone tool as with other tools. (be it a D'Amore, Fluke, Klein, etc)

It is a device used to compliment other instruments in getting a specific reading. In the case of clamp testing it is used to make the power factor in the math formula 100%.

A resistor bank or even a single resistor in a test is just one of several tools required to complete the test. In my opinion the most important tool is the users knowledge and application of the theories and formulas needed to get a valid result.

In the case of the AD-1 Mr. D'Amore has gone out of his way to design an instrument that combines ALL of the tools required to do the test ALONG WITH putting in an onboard system that does all the calculations for you. He has succeeded in doing what he set out to do, create a device that allows a user to do minimal set up, push a button and get a result. And results that are ACCURATE

The AMM-1 again does this by combining several features from different instruments to create one, that in this case, performs more than one function.

Again, in no way should my project be compared to any other as it's an aid in testing and yes while it can be considered a testing device it is not anywhere on the same lines as the ones I mentioned above.

This will be fun and I hope a lot of people take away some knowledge from my posts. it will get interesting in the next few weeks!
