Joe X Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 And. I have a 94 accord ex idk which way I'm goin with the box yet any ideas. That would. Help me. Brainstorm on this. No subs up in a trunk car, the easy way would be sell it and get two 12s if you don't have 19H, there's a very hard to build box solution if you have 16-17h.
Kojis_26 Posted February 13, 2014 Author Report Posted February 13, 2014 So there is no possible way I can fit this 18 in my trunk
Joe X Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 Post the maximum dimensions for a box, but very likely it can't be done properly ported and those subs are not great in sealed.
Kojis_26 Posted February 13, 2014 Author Report Posted February 13, 2014 I would have to measure out the inside of my trunk
Joe X Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 Yes you should measure them just to see if there is a chance.
oldsoundguy Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 5 cubes is a pretty good sized box. That is what I will be using for two 12" subs. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
Kojis_26 Posted February 13, 2014 Author Report Posted February 13, 2014 My whole trunk. Is just gonna have to be outlined and made in to a box.
CleanSierra Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 You probably don't have room, even if building in the trunk. It's gonna need to be like 8 cubes before sub and port displacements. That sub like likes a lot of port btw. And if you fire the sub up at the trunk lid, it's likely to just sound like a gross disaster. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
P4killer_ Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 Just like joe x said. You need 19 min height more likely 20-21. If you dont have 19 tall it aint working. Done and done. Sub up in a trunk is not ideal at all.. Measure from the floor to the lowest point one the top. Bottom of speakers in the deck any trunk rails, hinges w.e You have to see that the box will bump into these things and wont fit.. And if youve come to a conclusion than you can fit the height, consider width. Can you fit thay 19 inch height across that entire width? Depth is usually the easiest dimension in a trunk BUT it effects the most important thing. Will it slide in? Nothing like building a box too deep to find out you cant slide it in.. Think about how itll go in what space youll have to wedge it in there, things it might hit.. Once your sure on the 3 dimensions youll have you max external size. Now acount for the wood thickness and realize your smaller internal NET airspace. For an 18 your gonna need 5-6 min cuft plus port. Short story: its damn hard to fit an 18 in an average trunk. Kojis_26 Posted February 13, 2014 Author Report Posted February 13, 2014 If there's a way there's a will. In. Havin it. Done.
