Just got a Suburban Need ideas

Recommended Posts

I just got an 02 Suburban to tow my show monster to shows and the previous owner (Repo car) tore out or destroyed the factory system. According to my friend one door is only runnin a tweeter, two are missing the speakrs and teweters, and the sub is missing. I have seen Steve's Tahoe build and wanted to do something like that.

For starters I have an 1800 watt 5 channel am but I doubt it will work. It might for the internal speakers but not bass. Thinking two SMD/DC audio 12s or 15s would work. I want to keep the third row seat if possible..

Any ideas?

If you want SMD subs you will have to dig deep for some that are for sale, or offer up a pretty penny to buy some from someone else. This is because they are no longer in production. Also note there are only 15's and 18's for the SMD's.

Two 15's would be an easy fit in there.

Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space

Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears,

thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.

Ok, So I guess two 15's would work. What about amps? the more I see Steves car I am thinking of Rockford Fosgate but my friend is saying JL audio.. I don't want to buy both to figure out what amp is better than the other.

This is getting close to getting into a product versus product qustion, which are not allowed here, but my suggestion would be to look at some people that use the equipment that you are thinking of getting.

Rockford Fosgate is an amazing company, and JL is pretty nice too.

My best piece of advice would be to just look around the forum for a while, every now and then ask a question on something and then rethink what you want to do.

Your friend is going to drain your wallet faster than a Las Vegas escort.

If you have the money to drop then fine but I'd look around here a little more before making any major purchases.

Your name may or may not cause some complications lol.

And the fact more than one person agrees does not make it a circle jerk, it makes it a bukkake scene and you're in the middle ;)

Chick took 3 shots of Jager, and then, pissed in my mouth..
