Smoove Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 He said the mod for the blow through was 15 hundred alone not including any equipment in all I want to spend around 2-3k on everything including mids and highs $1500 for a blowthrough is crazy. It's 4-5hrs for a beginner with an angle grinder and sawzall and max $130 for a boot. 2 Team Fi 15's v1 2 DD M5's 970amps of Alt 6th order blowthroughThe truck Blowthrough build : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/155555-smooves-1996-chevy-ext-cab-c1500-slow-build/The 350z build : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/170694-smooves-2003-nissan-350z/ My FB page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Smooves-Car-Audio-and-performance/719746144805343 Team Fi Audio http://www.ficaraudio.com/
chicopup26 Posted February 20, 2014 Author Report Posted February 20, 2014 I'm at the disposal of anyone's knowledge, like I said, I'm new. I've never actually heard a quality system so I don't know what to get. I ddon't want to wall it off yet, just a hefty box in the back Is mmats a good brand? Got any links of brands that I should look into for my budget
TeamHT Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 Yeah, for sure not as difficult unless the shop isn't as experienced and they're trying to ensure they make a profit. You could easily swing some business towards CJ18 at droppinhzcaraudio: 2-4 of these http://www.droppinhzcaraudio.com/triton-15-dual-ohm-p-294.html And 1-2 of these http://www.droppinhzcaraudio.com/s15001-p-316.html And you're STILL way below budget for subs and amp. Which is good so you can also upgrade battery, big 3 wiring, headunit, and a small amp and something to upgrade the front stage to keep up with the added bass. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
chicopup26 Posted February 20, 2014 Author Report Posted February 20, 2014 If I did decide to upgrade the alternator, how much amperage would I need for maybe 5k watts
TeamHT Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 Audioque which is now Soundquebed http://www.soundqubed.com/HDS315_p_229.html And some amplifiers http://www.soundqubed.com/Mono-Block_c_29.html Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
TeamHT Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 Could also see if you have a CT Sounds dealer, just awesome people http://www.ct-sounds.com/products.html And although I've yet to run anything, what I've been looking to jump over to is Tantric. Been chatting it up some with the owner and he's been just an awesome guy. Taylor Fade is a legit guy and is a great DIYer and competitor. Of course there's FI but prepare for a long wait if you decide to go that route. For your budget...there are so many options available and choices you could make. Maybe seeing if any members are local to your area is a good idea so you can hear and decide. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
ChevyBoy95 Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 If I did decide to upgrade the alternator, how much amperage would I need for maybe 5k watts for 5k you will need to big group 31 batteries, upgraded starter, and something like a 200+ amperage alternator, but in the car audio world, bigger is better, so the biggest you can afford. Guys dont forget, OP is kinda new to the audio world, so suggesting blowthroughs and walls doesnt make any sense...... TeamHT Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 If I did decide to upgrade the alternator, how much amperage would I need for maybe 5k watts I'm an overkill guy so I'd get enough reserve to cover 8,000 watts and a 270 amp alternator the minimum for 5,000 watts. You could also probably get away with a single 270 and a single battery upgrade. I don't like dropping below 14 volts so I spend a good amount on upgrading my electrical first. TeamHT Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 I was a noob and built my wall for eight pioneer 12" championship subs All it really is is a large box sealing off front from rear, but I get your point. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
chicopup26 Posted February 20, 2014 Author Report Posted February 20, 2014 Soundqubed is reasonably priced, any experience with them?
