Guest
i've never heard of Advance system care 7 "Boost Your PC 300% Faster. Enjoy the New PC Feeling with Your Family" honestly for me, anything that promises stupid shit like this, on the home page no less, is a complete scam. even if it is free. malwarebytes ftw. hell even windows defender is a great antivirus, and its free AND made by microsoft. BassMunky
If the computer is from Dell, and you have never done a restore, you should be able to make some recovery discs. With Windows 7, dell has a software on the computer that allows you to make either discs or a flash drive for recovery. With those you can fresh install windows any time and it should have all the programs from dell on there. The software might also have a driver and application section so you can make a disc for those if needed. My normal "go-to" for a slow computer is to run MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, then a defrag with Ultra Defrag, then an SFC scan. Then remove all problem and junk software before running a virus/rootkit scan. That can be done with TDSSKiller and Sophos Virus Removal Tool. I'm not sure about the link policy here, but I'll put them in here and if I need to I will remove them: Malwarebytes AntiMalware: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/ Ultra Defrag: http://ultradefrag.sourceforge.net/en/index.html?download TDSSKiller: http://support.kaspersky.com/downloads/utils/tdsskiller.exe Sophos Virus Removal Tool: http://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/free-tools/virus-removal-tool.aspx And here is a guide on how to run SFC: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833 ' ok slow problem like with running internet. Google chrome. Also some weird things like when i play a game onlne I can login and everything, but it wont let me close the window a window that wil always show and tell about the game. but when i go on my friend comp it will let me close that window any suggestions? on my comp it will higlight the x box but wont close any help. beaker
The hardest thing to do through an internet forum is diagnose a "slow computer" If its fast in safe mode, I'm guessing you have a metric crapton of shit running when windows starts, and that's probably your issue. Metric crapton is a technical term.

Metric crapton is a technical term. lol love how you put this and finally, somebody else who uses the term Metric crapton!! Start-->> type in msconfig in search box-->>> click on startup tab on top.. How many programs do you have listed there? also, Start-->> type cmd --->>> type systeminfo --->>> scroll down to about the 10th or so line and see when the original install date was for windows. Hope to hear from you soon. beaker
Install date shouldn't matter if you know what you're doing. Its really only people who don't know what they're doing that re-install windows every 3 months for no apparent reason. Though sometimes it is faster, (especially if you run a server in your house with WDS), most of the time you learn more fixing it, than you would just formatting. Which means next time, you can actually fix it.
