I hung out for a couple hours today at the glass shop.....then bill took me over to the machine shop....and showed me how everything goes down........... So maybe i burned too many trees before i went there the first time....cuz i looked at all these molds....and apparently ............had no clue what i was lookin at......lol theyre not building sleepers......they build DayCab conversion kits.......... Can Youz splain me da difference?Iz still a good gig then? Even for a crazy like you? Break it down man! groundpounder2k2 Posted March 20, 2008 Author Report Share Posted March 20, 2008 well I went there today and worked 10 hours......not a bad gig.... but i dont think ima take it......Its a decent thing...and they do it well.....but i didnt care for it.....im not the type ....to be content laying up molds all day.... they have no insurance there....and i really need that....so ima continue to build cabinets... But i told them id come in from 3 to 5 if they need an extra hand....and on saturdays...if needed.....Just wasnt my type of Zone ya know.... they have 0 ventilation in there......the glass smell didnt bother me....but when im tryin to layup a mold 6'x5' and theres a guy 3 foot away sprayin GelCoat.....ventillation is a must....theres about 50 molds and room for 5......so they are continuislly(sp) moving them around....and theyre about 350 to 500 lbs each..... messy................such a messy shop.............probably what i hated the most I would have taken pix.....but ol'boy is so concerned with people copying his molds...he wouldnt let me take pix..... thats cool tho....i dont blame him....
