Sutliff
Not sure what is so hard about taking out fuses. I can have my rear fuses all out in less than two minutes if needed. (3 of them) I will not argue fuse vs. breakers, ... I just have my opinion(s), ... My question, & it appeared to be that of the OP - what is the reason for such large protection between BATTs. (3 of them) I can push a button on my circuit breakers in 1 second. Been running breakers for 5 years now. Amart88
Let me tell you, I agree that you should use fuses as breakers can stick and also wear out over time and keep tripping. ALSO, I hate when people say "just pop in or pop out the fuses" that shit ain't always easy. Especially with those typical round screw type holders. Next time I get holders, they will be the square removable top ones. My 2005 s10 blazer build. 4 zcon 18's walled.

I don't want to start a debate either, I was just curious if someone made a 300A fuse. I believe 200A will be a tad to small. Aren't you supposed to to use 300A for 1/0 wire anyhow? To protect the wire from burning up under a surge?
DubNDodge
Yeah I never cared for the "pill" shaped holder. Lift up beauty panel, pop the cover on the fuse holder, undo the nuts. Boom out. <2 minutes. Sutliff
Yeah, you can "fuse for the wire/cable", but it does matter what amperage you are pushing through the cable, too. Look up an "Ampacity" chart. http://www.directwireusa.com/What-Welding-Cable-Size-Chart/ Zeke '14 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo SS Vehicle Details & Mod List: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/garage/vehicle/1703-chevrolet-monte-carlo-ss/ Audio Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/143276-2003-chevy-monte-carlo-ss-audio-build-ib-build Pioneer FH-P8000BT Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 Fi IB3 (Two 12", 2-ohm SVC) RF T400-2 & T500-1bdCP MechMan S Series 240A XS Power D3400 & D975

Bship
we trust breakers in our homes. What is the difference? Not arguing here, just a thought. I do see that a breaker could fail, but so can a condom and I don't see anybody abstaining because it's not 100%. Maybe that's an extreme example but hey. But at 300A, it is at least an "option". I truly believe, until I am proved wrong, that the OP needs nothing more than a 150-200A.
