Pionner headunits sub level when tuning with DD-1

On pioneer HU im wondering if you need to have the sub level to +6 in order to get 4v output from the deck or just leave it at 0. I read around here alpines need the sub level all the way up in order to get full volt output

The manual says to keep all EQ & "other" setting 'flat'.

So ... Why are you setting gains with Bass Boost, or even just a bass frequency cranked to +6, let along anything above ZERO?

I left mine at zero and just went up a little on the sub output after i tuned it

That's why they don't deliver.

Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait.

You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start :D

I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do.

I left mine at zero also. After tuning I run it anywhere between -26 and 0. Never above zero.

Its just the sub level, not bass boost. Thats what i read to but i read like alpine and kenwood desk need that sub level up to +15 to get the max volts coming out of the sub pre outs

I don't know which way is right or wrong but if you tune at +15 then keep it at 0 after tuning you're not getting max volts anyways under that theory

... & when I was referring to the Bass Boost, or any bass level up, I was referring to having them up while trying to set gains, ... you want them flat to set gains, ... after that, it is up to your personal tastes.

Moreover, whatever the specs say the pre-out's voltage rating(s) are, they are, regardless of what signal you have going through them ... whether basshead tunes, or spoken word talk radio.
