MrSkippyJ
single SA-8 and 1400 watts? Single SA-8, 4-ohm DVC (700w RMS). Sorry, forgot to add that part... I had a short conversation over that with Sundown and they recommended 4-ohm DVC rebuild. So that if I decide to go 2 SA-8's it'd be 1400w RMS @ 1 ohm. sounds good then! ToNasty
I know this is asking too much, as I've read over and over .75 net. But would it be okay with 1.16 cu ft?Thanks Way to big ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
xxgokouxx
The sub is getting warm probably because of clipping. Hour did you set ht amp? The remote knob has a "distortion" indicator, the distortion indicator only goes off when I play single beats, not long notes. There's no distortion according to the meter at all. The light doesn't go off. I set my gains a quarter up, I haven't played with other settings on the amplifier really, as I don't know what to tune to yet. single SA-8 and 1400 watts? But would it be okay with 1.16 cu ft?Thanks Way to big I've been tinkering and I just can't get it right. Tried .75 cu in, and everytime I input, it's like 40Hz+. Is there a downfall to being too big of an enclosure? I'm all ears and this is literally my first successful box built.
TheMonolith2001
Setting the gain on that amp should be idiot proof, It has a clipping indicator that many users of this forum have deemed accurate.

ToNasty
Yes I the box is to big it's like having less pressure which helps the suspension. To big of a box can make the sub max out quicker ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
xxgokouxx
If the enclosure is to big the you will have over excursion and your sub will bottom out Gotcha. Thank you! Yes I the box is to big it's like having less pressure which helps the suspension. To big of a box can make the sub max out quicker Any tips to making the dimensions work? I'm still playing around and it doesn't look good at all so far. I'm trying not to let the port go outside of the box.
ToNasty
Go to Home Depot and look at there PVC. I think they have one with a inner diameter of 3.75. Put that into Torres which should shrink the box ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
xxgokouxx
The bigger the inner diameter, the more Hz it has to the tune.... This is frustrating, I feel like I'm doing something wrong lol.
