yes amp plays. i plain to make more videos of what its doing and the steps you guys tell me to do.

if the car doesn't stall, you have enough voltage.

Connection depends on when the DD1 was made from what I found.

If in doubt, contact the manufacturer with your serial number (under cover on the back of the unit) and explain the situation so they can confirm correct testing procedure.

I just got a DD1 from Sonic. In the manual under setting the gain on a full range it states:

"5. Using included harness, connect DD-1 to output of amplifier. Connect the red harness lead to the Left Speaker (+) terminal, connect the black to the Left Speaker (-). (Note: Most multi-channel amplifiers have the signal on the Left (+) and Right (-). "

Said the same thing for the sub amp gain set.

This puzzled me as all the videos I watched, including Steve's video, showed the black lead going to the amp ground. I did not want to screw up my new DD-1 so I contacted damore engineering. Here is the reply I got on the latest DD-1:

Hello,

We are in the process of changing the procedure, you can connect directly to the amplifier as your owner's manual states. The issue we were having was the dd-1 being damaged by big amplifiers. Since then we have revised the DD-1 Board and it is now capable of handing higher voltages. The reason we also changed the procedures was that some differential output amplifiers like the JL Class D amplifiers you would receive false readings.

Hope that helps. As I said, double check with the manufacturer (and your manual if you have one to see if it reads the same as mine).

Cheers

The alligator clip IS an alligator clip for a reason. It's meant to grab some stands of the ground wire.

Where is the BATTERY grounded to?

irrelevant?
