Jhunt94
If you have the battery ground and the ground from the alternator in the exact same place wouldn't that almost be the same as having a ground from the alternator to the negative on the battery? 2007 Ford F-150 Reg. SnowDrifter
If you gained by going alt case to battery negative, your other grounds are lacking and might need to be re-evaluated Just saying ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

Yes. You might improve your resistance between the two by a few milliohms by going directly from the alternator to the battery, but it will not improve anything either audibly or performance-wise over having your battery, alternator, engine block, and car/truck floor properly bonded to the frame of the vehicle utilizing the method I described in post #20. The same method we use to bond highly sensitive communication, navigation, and radar systems on aircraft.
dharris2488
Is the alt's rectifier a full wave or half wave rectifier? I believe it's a flux capicitor... hahahaha i know. Mechman specifically told me to run another 1/0 from alt casing/bolting point to negative batt post. I'm running close to 14volts now. So, I suppose I did a Big 4... Whatever, it works and I don't drop voltage too bad anymore. I was losing my mind before this run of wire... Maybe it's Mechman specific, but I doubt it. 2013 Toyota Camry SE 240a MechMan HO Alternator 1/0 Welding Flex Cable Big 3 CT Sounds 4000.1D Kenwood XR400-4 Mid/High Amp SoundQubed Q4-120 Mid Amp Infinity Kappa 6.5 components Kappa 6x9's for rear deck fill (coming out) (4) 8" PRV 8MB450's Set of SoundQubed SuperTweets (2) DSS Ethos 12's D2's @32.5hz (building 4th order enclosure) (2) SQ HDC3 10's @ 33.5hz (current build, loving them) Pioneer AVH-X4600BT 100 sq/ft Stinger RoadKill Sound Deadner 120 sq/ft QMat Sound Deadener (4) Juice Box Black Cherries Lots and Lots of feet of SHCA wire, along with 50' of Welding 1/0 2 Runs of 1/0 Positive front to back ToolMaker Everywhere

That's how I have mine. Alt ground to neg, neg batt to chassis, engine block to neg battery, and of course the alt + to batt+... If this is wrong, someone let me know please. I've checked resistance and the most I have is .2 from alt casing. My chassis ground is .1 and engine block ground to neg batt is .1. I suppose all is good.... 2013 Toyota Camry SE 240a MechMan HO Alternator 1/0 Welding Flex Cable Big 3 CT Sounds 4000.1D Kenwood XR400-4 Mid/High Amp SoundQubed Q4-120 Mid Amp Infinity Kappa 6.5 components Kappa 6x9's for rear deck fill (coming out) (4) 8" PRV 8MB450's Set of SoundQubed SuperTweets (2) DSS Ethos 12's D2's @32.5hz (building 4th order enclosure) (2) SQ HDC3 10's @ 33.5hz (current build, loving them) Pioneer AVH-X4600BT 100 sq/ft Stinger RoadKill Sound Deadner 120 sq/ft QMat Sound Deadener (4) Juice Box Black Cherries Lots and Lots of feet of SHCA wire, along with 50' of Welding 1/0 2 Runs of 1/0 Positive front to back ToolMaker Everywhere
