rockFord_Expedition Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 if your cooling fans can be heard over your system you have no need for them because your amps aren't working hard enough to get hot. Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire
boom50cal Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 Its not a hot computer. Its just an amp. Coolmaster has a pack of 4 120s for like 15 bucks or some shit. Some cheap shit 80mms probably work just fine if you cant fit 120s. Like other bro said who cares if they are loud. No need to buy 25 dollar fans. I have a pair of ultra cheap 80mms cooling my mini fridge compressor. They've been on 24/7 for the last year and a half.Good info. As a college student i like the idea of getting away with cheaper fans. What are the drawbacks? Loud? Durability? ... Cool master makes good stuff. Like im using 4 of their 120s in my computer. They get noisey at 100% but I doubt you'll hear it over the car. I just checked the 4 pack is 16.99 on new egg. You'll get yout moneys worth. Theres no need for fancy silent fans and all that junk. 2 exhaust and 2 intake should work good. I dont think you'll have problems. I have the cheapo cooler master fan's in my PC as well. Not really that loud, have been kicking ass since 2011. Not super high CFM though, but the more I think about it, the more I agree that the fan's don't really need to be so aggressive... iirc, the coolermaster's do like 50 cfm each...so 100 cfm pushing is plenty On 1/4/2013 at 9:31 PM, HatersGonnaHate said: Wow. 184 posts and I think you're a fucking asshole.
Swordlordboy1234 Posted April 24, 2014 Author Report Posted April 24, 2014 Well price depending i was hoping to have 4 fans total. 2 on each amp. 1 push 1 pull for each amp. Again i have no idea about this cfm stuff. To me a fan is a fan. So these lower CFM ratings like 40-60 is that gonna be acceptable? Or should i go higher My old YouTube channel : http://www.youtube.com/user/SwordLords1234?feature=mhee My old build log : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/161872-96-accord-b2-sundown-sky-high-dc-power-re-re-build-for-heatwave/page-37 My New Build - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/207041-2016-mazda-6-sql-build/ 2016 Mazda 6 Touring JL Fix 86 - OEM signal correction B2 prototype DSP 6to8 B2 Ref63 - 3 way active set 2 B2 Class H quattro's 1 B2 Zero.5R @.5 2 B2 HNv3 12 d2 B2 SLIP40 - Lithium in the trunk Northstar Group 35 under the hood 100ft 2/0 welding cable 30ft 4ga welding cable 20ft 8ga welding cable All stinger OFC speaker wire Soundrive custom RCA's Tons of attention to detail.... Swordlordboy1234 Posted April 24, 2014 Author Report Posted April 24, 2014 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103052 This is the value pack you were talking about. So each fan would give me about 45cfm at 100%. Anyone else think i need more before i order these puppies? goodvibez Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 I'm using 6 low profile 40mm fans to cool each of my DC 5k's(3pushing 3 pulling). Each amp will have a SMD TM-1 to automatically kick them on when the amp gets too hot for my liking. Got them off of newegg as well I just bought 20 of them for a little discount I did make a small video showing how the fans kick on and off Still have alot of work to do on it but you get the idea Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it. The people who criticize or try and one up you....have a p.o.s to no system at all and will tell you all about this "other" guys system! Saddley I'm sure if I meet this "other" guy...he will probably tell me he thinks your just as annoying as I think you are! I'm not compensating, just proud of fabricating!
