boom50cal
From my listening of components vs pro-audio, pro-audio is more so just LOUD and in your face, compared to components being more detailed and warm... Best pro-audio setup I have heard hands down goes to OBI's lincoln. Jonathan price's tahoe is way too loud and annoying as fuck. There's a guy here in OK that is running several sets of Digital Designs 6.5 components that are crazy loud and keep up with his 156+ sub stage really well...2 DDZ18's on 2 Cactus K9's. bcbrassard
Are you trying to keep up with the 18s? You might need pro audio or a couple sets of comps up front to keep up. Its always in the signal you send to your amps and the ability to eq that signal. It all starts with the HU and a good clean amp. You can make a $120 set of comps sound great or a $350 set sound like shit. Its in the install and tuning.
