Aidan Hansen Posted May 8, 2014 Report Share Posted May 8, 2014 I've never wired below 1ohm on any 1ohm stable amp out of fear of destroying equipment BUT I see local/forum guys do it all the time with what seems to be no trouble at all. Then again, they have massive electrical, quality gear and normally have a good sense on the volume knob. Key is having the electrical to do it. I know people who wire less than .5 ohm even as low as .35 ohm on their amp(s). Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. What voltage did it go into protect? Did you have a digital volt meter on it? I had a stinger meter and the gauge in the car.
