If say I have my amp set at 1/2 (point of clipping) and my electrical isn't upgraded yet, then I do the big 3, upgrade to 0 gauge and an extra battery or so, do I need to turn down the gain cause the amp will be producing more?? Cj Kumz Posted May 13, 2014 Author Report Posted May 13, 2014 Got a battery with no amp rating labelled but I have just confirmed that it is a 70amp battery and my alternator has 90 amp output. So that is 160 total amps, I just need to know what my cars electrical gets from the alt and the battery then I can choose my additional battery. Depending on your system goals, total amp draw you may be able to get away with less, maybe more if you have big goals though. I will be getting an 80Ah battery for da hood and the same for the back for now. Then upgrade later in the future.
