T40001BD Stuck in protection and buzzing from inside amp HELP! Video inside!

Recommended Posts

Damn no one is capable of repairing locally? Has to be sent in to fosgate? Anybody know what I should expect to pay? Sorry for all the dumb questions because I have never sent an amp out. I'd prefer to have it fixed locally. Or shit if any one knew what part went bad I'd fix it myself.

definitely gonna have to send it to RF or one of their authorized repair centers.

i don't even know you and i would bet $1000 if i handed you the parts you wouldn't know what to do with them. Sorry. LOL. The T4000.1 is no joke to people that actually know what they are doing.

Have you taken the case off the amp? Price will vary depending on whats wrong with it. It may be a easy fix and cost you more in shipping you wont ever know until you have someone look at it.

Probably not lol dude can't believe you commented on my shit I'm a huge fan and follow all your work!!!!

hey bro, don't feel bad, the T4000 is no joke, i wouldn't know what to do with it either haha. When those things go, they GO.....i'd send mine in too. Be prepared for $250-$300 plus for the repair, usually flat rate. To me though, even though that sounds like a lot, the amp was $2800 in it's day so $300 is a small price to pay to get it back. Especially since, no offense, but that amp does not appear to be babied. It looks like it's been rode hard and put away wet LOL :D

oh and thanks man, glad to have ya on my site. Good luck with your amp bro.

I have been after this amp for a grip and now I have one. this one. doing this bs... Lmfao but I told my wife it would prolly cost 350-750 to fix. my question is.... Is it worth it? What makes this 4k watt amp so valuable? I see you were putting 4 of them in your sons civic. You get them all in????

My dude Matt bought 2-5000 watt planet audios (Master/Slave) on two 15 MA Audio 2000rms each. Shit was loud but I'm willing to bet this T40001BD will put them to shame....

BTW the point behind the two planet audios was he bought 10k watts of power for 300 brand new. Now I'm sure they ain't doing 10 maybe 6-7 so what's the the deal with this expensive T40001BD

Yes the T4000 is worth. And I would take a T4000 which is capable of about 5000wrms over 2 MA Audio 2k's anyday. $350 - 750 is a good guess. I paid $330 to have a RF T2000 repaired.

You need to call this company. RF will send you to them for these older gen amps.

Please contact freemans car stereo at 704-398-2206 for repair options

that is from RF's repair info. I think the company is in NC

Edit : No way are Planet Audio's doing 10k or even 6k for $300. I would say 4k wrms max combined total. Remember the rule "You get what you pay for". Just get the RF fixed and stop looking at swap meet amps.

Are you kidding me? Those planet audio amps are not even near the 6-7kw you think they are :D I would be surprised if one of those can put out 1000 watts... And I'm sure it will begin to give issues in no time!

Real power and quality are not cheap, that's why your RF amp costs that much :) (and you are paying for the brand, of course)
