slaughter Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 Hello, so my system has been hooked up for a few days now, today I went to the shop and put it on the dd1 and o scope. Went back home and went over some of my wiring, some terminals were coming loose. Once I got all those done and better than before everything all good I go to hook up the amp, I go to plug in the power/ground and boom smoke and some sizzling. Any thoughts?? I checked wiring multiple times, it is correct and same as before.. gckless Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 You didn't accidentally switch the power and ground did you? I'll admit it, I did it with my DC 2.0k the first time I hooked it up. Luckily it was fine. You also didn't have speaker wires connected to the amp and no speaker did you? Possible they touched. Sounds like a short somewhere. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand.
