Daniel Francis Sheppard
Currently I have a jl 10 w1v2-4 and a jl 10 w3v3-4 running together powered by a mono 500 watt amp. The w1 is rated at 300 rms max while the w3 is rated at 500rms max. When bass hits in car it seems lacking compared to when I had two W1s installed. One of my W1s finally kicked the bucket after 8 years but the other one is still kicking strong. After swapping out busted W1 for new W3 it seems as though the W1 is hitting way better then the new W3 on the other side. Is this because the W3 requires more power then the W1 to perform. Im currently in the middle of upgrading the system just waiting on money. My plan is to get rid of W1 and 500 watt amp and upgrade to another W3 and a JL audio JX1000/D amp in the near future. Weigel21
It's not recommended, though it can be done. Part of the reason the older W1 is hitting harder is due to the W3 being new and it's suspension being stiff, after a couple weeks of use, it will loosen up na d play louder and deeper. Weigel21
Oh, and you'll likely get more cancellation/peaks between the two different subs than two same model subs. If you are running the subs in a shared chamber enclosure, running to different subs is not a good idea.

thefourth
Don't do it Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do thatI can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream. oh lawd. Krakin
Not even once. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.
