Yeeb Posted July 1, 2014 Author Report Posted July 1, 2014 Arkansas. North eastern. If anyone know where there is a HO alt for sale for not too much let me know.
8v fury Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 Before you buy a HO alt, have your 0 gauge power and ground wire installed, have your 0 gauge big 3 installed, have the amp properly tuned, a proper ground and also have a good size speaker wire from your amp to sub. Pushing it to the limits. Want more power.
soundstream15 Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 You don't need a HO alt with that power. Big 3 and replace cap with a small agm battery and your good to go You need to order wiring first my friend. The HO alt won't do anything when you got to small of wire while not having a good "install"
Guest Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 before you install or buy anything get one of these first
Yeeb Posted July 2, 2014 Author Report Posted July 2, 2014 You dirty for that gunnem! XD but what if I replace my 2 year old battery with a large agm?
soundstream15 Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 Then that will be better but what you need to do first is upgrade your power wire and ground!!! Not 8awg or some cheap 4awg. Get some 1/0awg and do the big 3 Your biggest issue is your wiring bro. You can't try to force more power thru small wire, your create more heat and more resistance and then boom! You got a fire You need a better ground and better wiring and then worry bout a battery Does anyone else not agree with this?
Yeeb Posted July 2, 2014 Author Report Posted July 2, 2014 I totally agree. I'm getting 0guage or 2 guage welding wire Friday and enough to do my big three. Ground it better then possibly a battery. I'll have around 1000 dollars to play with.
soundstream15 Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 Ok that sounds good! Remember to ditch the cap=)
Yeeb Posted July 2, 2014 Author Report Posted July 2, 2014 One more thing. On the big 3 whaT would be the significance of grounding any bolt on engine block to the chassis. It's not connected to a power source.
