cole00c7r
I also started my temporary amp rack I rounded over the edges Then I wrapped it Now I just need to clean up the wire spaghetti!! So recently I have been interested in putting an iPad in my dash, so I got a deal on an IPad 2 and ordered a new dash bezel so that way if I wanted to put it back to stock someday I could. I wanted to get rid of all of the groves and the round edges on top, so I started by sanding it down with 60 grit to remove all of the smooth surfaces and then added filler. The stock dash is covered in a orange peel ish texture and that had to go, so I sanded it all off and added filler. This is the texture that I am removing Rough parts that have not been sanded After sanding MIDS-HIGHS 8-Rockford Fosgate Punch Pro 6.5's for now.... 2-Rockford Fosgate Punch Pro 8's 4-Rockford Fosgate Punch Pro 1'' Neodymium tweeters 2-Rockford Fosgate Punch Pro 10's AMPLIFIERS 4-Rockford Fosgate T2500-1bdCP 2-Rockford Fosgate T1000-4ad 1-Rockford Fosgate T800-4ad PROCESSING 1-Rockford Fosgate 3SIXTY.3 SUBWOOFERS 2-Rockford Fosgate T3S2 19's NEODYMIUM
cole00c7r
AND by that time the sun was coming up....damn worked all night Starting to take shape I picked up some CA glue from Mobile Solutions, now im ready to glue my hands together lol. From what I have used it on so far, it is some real strong stuff, I got the gel and it works great! Thanks Mobile Solutions! I decided to pick up a SoundMan kit, just to make it a little bit quicker and to support te scene! cole00c7r
I got started by marking where I wanted the ipad to sit, made sure it was level when it was in, and then made the cut out. I used Mobile Solutions CA gel and glued the kit all in. Was fast and easy. I then used some thin birch? I believe to fill all of the gap on one side. That was all glued in with the CA gel. I then used EverCoat EverGlass to fill the outside. I laid it up very thick....kinda.... I dont know why, but I wanted to know how hot it was getting when curing I installed it back into my car and turned that bass up and the ipad was flexing around a litle too much, so then I added some mat to the back side of the bezel, just to stiffen it up even more! Its been above normal over here, temperatures have been record high for this time of year, on my sander it was 138.2 degrees, it had been sitting out, but the actual temp was around 108 degrees! Its starting to look like something In my garage .....108..... I wanted to add my SMD meters to the dash as well, and in one of Mr. Meade's videos I saw a little clip of some sort of spl meter???? what??? So I made three spots for gauges. I used some pvc pipe and some wood scraps, then glued them together with Ca gel. And that's where I am currently, I still need to sand a ton more, and fill all of the small pin holes. I think for paint I am going to try to spray it black with small blue flakes in it, updates as they come!! cole00c7r
Its been a while again since I updated this. I sold my 18's and my 3500 to a bud of mine and have been working on a rebuild for this upcoming season. My plan is to go for a all Rockford build. Im planning on going way bigger with some interesting equipment! But for now here is the rest of my dash! I picked up a da and some paper from the good ol Harbor freight just to get by for a little while One of my buds paints in his makeshift booth and he said he could spray my dash so I headed over to put in some work. Coated with Self etching primer and then I sanded the whole thing again lookin good now, time for some paint! Half way thru the sanding I bought this sweet electric sander.....wont be using air for a while, this thing sanded layers off way faster! Now paint time.... after some more primer this was inside the makeshift booth, it worked really well..... definitely could not have had it turn out as well as it did without his help! then wet-sanding! fun fun MIDS-HIGHS 8-Rockford Fosgate Punch Pro 6.5's for now.... 2-Rockford Fosgate Punch Pro 8's 4-Rockford Fosgate Punch Pro 1'' Neodymium tweeters 2-Rockford Fosgate Punch Pro 10's AMPLIFIERS 4-Rockford Fosgate T2500-1bdCP 2-Rockford Fosgate T1000-4ad 1-Rockford Fosgate T800-4ad PROCESSING 1-Rockford Fosgate 3SIXTY.3 SUBWOOFERS 2-Rockford Fosgate T3S2 19's NEODYMIUM
cole00c7r
Well now that I have an Ipad where my HVAC controlls should be, I relocated it to the center console. Man I sure love sunflash! Used some left over vinyl from my amp rack to cover this piece with. used some WeldWood contact cement....now I use the Landue After I finished that, I started to clean up my wiring for my headunit and bass knob and SMD meters! Its pretty clean, since I have everything torn apart now I re did it but oh well..... Then I started extending the harness for the HVAC. It was a ton of fun looks like a mess now, but I fixxed it once i was done. wire spaghetti MIDS-HIGHS 8-Rockford Fosgate Punch Pro 6.5's for now.... 2-Rockford Fosgate Punch Pro 8's 4-Rockford Fosgate Punch Pro 1'' Neodymium tweeters 2-Rockford Fosgate Punch Pro 10's AMPLIFIERS 4-Rockford Fosgate T2500-1bdCP 2-Rockford Fosgate T1000-4ad 1-Rockford Fosgate T800-4ad PROCESSING 1-Rockford Fosgate 3SIXTY.3 SUBWOOFERS 2-Rockford Fosgate T3S2 19's NEODYMIUM
cole00c7r
I then started cleaning up the mess of wire spaghetti. Now its all cleaned up. So after that I went to Spaldings and picked up some front door panels that I wouldnt have to worry about cutting up. My goal is to put one 8 inch speaker along with four 6.5's and two super tweets in each door! I wanted to keep them simple and clean so they might look a little similar to Mr. Meads lol So making the rings was interesting, I got all 14 rings done quick This was the layout that I wanted, so then I started cutting out the basic shape. Then I took the chunk that I had cut out and made a template from cardboard. That way I could use it to cut the other door and make bracing and stuff. Then I started Gluing everything into place using Mobile Solutions CA Gel After I got them how I wanted them I used contact cement and wrapped them. Getting em covered in resin Heres some of my fillers, Glues and Resins that I use. Then It was time to lay some mat..... I have watched a couple people lay mat on the outside over the stretched fabric so I tried it. I would not add the mat to the outside again, unless it is way beneficial....somebody chime in and let me know? because it was really rough after doing so. cole00c7r
I missed a ton of pictures, I ended up getting them about a quarter inch thick just on the inside fiberglass mat, they are super strong now! Then there was a show the next day so I wanted to get them playing so I started sanding and filling. NOW I do have two super tweets going in each door, I have not cut out the holes yet because I didnt yet...GFY Here they are both fit perfectly, they dont hit anywhere, but they do get damn close to the seats.
