Aussie Lexus 4 x 18s walled, big power, 12 batts, custom trim, custom doors, fresh PSI recones, quiet

Recommended Posts

Thank you mate.

Looking at doing my doors next.

Want to keep it simple, most likely 2 x PRV 8s and a 'super' tweeter in each door.

My question is what kind of crossover to run, I want to keep things simple and analogue like the old school days, so a processor like 3sixty or an Audison is kind of out of the question, any suggestions? What kind of frequencies should I set them up?

Thanks

Mike

Get prv mr500s! I run them and I love them, super loud and sound great!

Thank you every body for all the kind words, I really do appreciate the feedback smile.png

Things are moving forward, I am trying to get the car to an almost 'near finished' stage.

At this stage I will be sticking with the current woofers but I will be removing all the American Bass soft parts and reconing them using a mix or different materials from PSI Car Audio to hopefully make them more reliable.

The coils and spider system will be much more heavy duty than what what originally in the woofers, I think the motor itself is actually quite large and a fairly reasonable design for what kind of power I am playing with, it's not like I have over 20,000watts or anything crazy.

I've also got spares on the way as well so I won't miss out on any events 'touch wood'

All going well, this should all be more or less sorted by the end of the month and back up and running.

I have also ordered my frontstage equipment, which will consist of a pair of PRV Audio 8" NEO woofers per door, and a pair of PRV Audio supertweeters per door (107dB efficient and they weigh 1.3kg per tweeter lol)

These are the same as what is in my buddy Phil's front doors, except he's gone for a crazy four 8"s per door!

Once the font doors are constructed (not too far away all going well) they will be trimmed to match my seats etc. and new boot trim setup (also not too far away I hope)

These should be loud and clear to match the loud woofer setup making the car very very musical.

Thanks for reading

Also a pic of Phil's doors to give you an idea of equipment, mine won't look as crazy as these suckers though!

I will be keeping the majority of the factory shape.

This thing is freaking sweet! I knew shit was gonna get real when the first few pics was you cutting a massive hole in your trunk lol.

But I had that same issue with the CT 3k amp. Scared/pissed me off that it didn't work. Love and behold that damn switch.

Love how everything came out. That steel cage is nuts. Seats are killer. Love it!

Thank you everybody for the kind words and thank you to Steve for sharing my build on his Facebook pages, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :)

Things are still moving along with her, but I am also slowing down just a touch to enjoy the view a bit too, I went a little hard early.

Summer is fast aproaching and I want the car going so that I can enjoy cruising with my mates.

This is why the build is going a little slow, look at how my town looks right now! Could you say no?!

But I can't spend all day slackin' I've also been putting in that work!

Subs are out!

It's fairly low

So I went to see my trimmer, and the seats were almost done! And they were also looking great too.

20140911_180722_zps0970bcd5.jpg

So he and I finished them by painting a few left over bits of plastic etc, and we fitted the headrests. These seats are great because everything is electric, even the headrests, so I couldn't leave them off.

Everything has been recoloured or wrapped, even the base pieces around the sides have been wrapped and look killer!!

We even retained the First Aid kit, just for, as we Aussies call it 'Wank Factor'

Things are a little bit stiff and 'bumpy', purely because the seats haven't been fitted and been in the warm sun yet to stretch and level out, that explains why they're a little bit iffy looking still.

But you can agree, they are certainly miles ahead of before.

I also picked up the arm rests for my doors, this is the first step on the doors, following in a week will be the entire new door build outs to take the improved front stage :)

I read somewhere once, you can't say something looks beautiful until you compare it to what it was before, so if you remember what my seats looked like:
