If you're really worried about it, you could build some sort of shroud or tunnel on the outside long edge of each amp and then blow across that, so from left to right (or vice versa) in the pic. Goal is to get air moving across those fins. That's where the most surface area is, that's where the most heat exchange will take place. Unfortunately computer case fans aren't the most focused stream of air, but they do fine once you give them a channel to run across. Especially if you are going with that 4 pack, which aren't really high CFM fans.

"Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand.

I've been using fans for years. Figured I'd try something different with the latest setup. I'm afraid, as gckless says ..."aim the fan across the heatsink" is the best way to go. Figured I'd try something different with forcing air through the internals of the amp, see if I had any more luck. Not really. Amps still get hotter than hell, and don't seem to benefit from it. I imagine in combination with some air moving across the heat sinks, I'd be doing much better, but what can I really ask for. I'm over working these poor Fosgates as is, so it's expected they get hot.

I grabbed some fans from a local recycling place on the cheap. These are from some dell rack mount servers, dual 2 speed fans, so when you ramp them all the way up they really get the air going. I bought a 25 ohm adjustable resistor from Radio Shack that I'm going to throw in the dash, in line with the fans DC supply and see how well they hold up by varying the speed. They get kinda loud.

Ive also used these in a previous build. Had my amps behind some plexi, and had the fan blowing air across the heatsinks, then out some vent holes the other side of the amp rack. Worked pretty well IMO.
