01 S-10
I currently have a single DD 3515d being pushed by about 12-1300rms(brutus 1605d), 4 cubes @37hz. I've been seeing some pretty impresive results from the Kicker cvr15s so my question is would 2 cvr15s be louder with the same power(3 cubes each@36-37hz)? For $119.00 each i'm very tempted. aquill1
Personally I like kicker, but I heard 2 orion 12's in a box made for the subs (actually it's this set right here LINK) and those 2 12's were louder than 2 kicker cvr 15's hooked to the identical amp in the same car (2001 chevy impala.) Obviously the low's were different and that is also my opinion but I never thought those 2 12's would sound near as loud as those 15's. Cone area wins over your dd though. For that price though you could build a box buy the subs and make money on it if you weren't impressed.
SPL2K
the 2 cvr's would be louder but if you are wanting 2 15's, then why not just get another DD 3515? audiofanaticz
my friend has two 3515s, and we noticed after a few different box rebuilds that the subs really didnt come alive until they got around 1800rms each.
01 S-10
the 2 cvr's would be louder but if you are wanting 2 15's, then why not just get another DD 3515? I would love to but at almost $500 a piece its not that easy for me. Also that would mean getting an amp that puts out AT LEAST 2400 watts and I can use my current amp to push the cvr's. I'm open to other suggestions that are in that price range that might be better . I'm not so worried about not hitting the low lows because I listen to rock more than anything(chevelle, mudvayne, tool, etc.) Quote TDH FTW !!! aquill1
How many people use 15's for rock? I'm not poking fun or anything either, just curious...If I were you I'd try a couple 12's instead of some 15's, imo its a little hard to find some nice 15's for the same price and power consumption...
