Sutliff
On the left is Knu Fleks 1/0, & right is the 1/0 welding cable that is already in place as an ALT ---> BATT "Big 3" cable ... Both are OFC ... This is the link to the welding cable with its specs ... http://www.ebay.com/...=item51ba74378d This is a link to the Knu cable with its specs ... http://www.knukoncep...er-ground-wire/ Here is the ALT right now, ... Yank the 1/0 welding in favor of the 1/0 Knu?! PS: I fear offering the specs for both cables may make this a "Vs." thread, ... If so, I apologize ... please, nobody reply with an answer, just inform me it is, & I will see to it that it gets pulled. Thanks for any replies I may get. 808faka
no, you can just leave it you should be fine. the insulation is probably better on the welding wire anyways and can withstand higher heat then the knu.

timc31610
I looked at the specs on both. Both are rated up to 105c so not really a difference in insulation as far as temperature goes. As for oil and gas absorption , I would bet welding cable wins. I've seen pics of your engine bay and I don't see oil or gas being an issue as it looks spotless! Unless you just want the name brand I don't see a reason to swap. Yeah, with only 55,000 miles on it, she has not started to sling anything anywhere yet, ... plus I keep everything cleaned up & wiped down quite well ... was always taught to keep stuff clean, ... can find the source of said leaks & the like a lot faster if you do not have an eighth-inch of grease & crud caked on everywhere! I've a;so stared at the specs for quite awhile too, ... & at the actual cable on the car, & there is no doubt to me, now, that I do not need to change it ... & if I did, it would be just for name's sake. I am sure ten feet of red OFC 1/0 Knu will be put to use somewhere, ... someday. Appreciate you poking your head back in & giving, essentially, a second opinion. Tecomah
I say leave it.. The knu may carry a little more amperage, but the welding wire is heat resistant as shit. I will differ to people who know more than me though 750??! Yeah, fuck that. TDZ13
No question about it, leave the welding wire in there. Won't benefit any by switching to the Knu wire, except if you're going to wire everything else with Knu and just want it all to match. 2006 Hyundai Sonata Lx - Alpine CDA-9885 - Rainbow CSX Comps - (2) 12" Sundown Zv4 - Sundown 5K - 4.6ft3 @ 33hz w/ 6" aeros sealed off in trunk - 250a Singer alt, Kinetik 1400, (2) 2400s - 150.4 @ Dash as of now
